The 2026-27 Premier League Season is set to get underway on Aug. 21, with champions Arsenal hosting newly promoted Coventry City in the curtain-raiser.
Fresh off their first Premier League title since 2003-04, the Gunners are +145 favorites to repeat this season (FanDuel Sportsbook), putting them just ahead of Manchester City (+280), Liverpool (+500), Manchester United (+600), and Chelsea (10/1).
At the other end of the board are the three relegation favorites.
Hull City, which clinched a spot in the Premier League in dramatic fashion in May, is a whopping -475 favorite to get relegated. Fellow newbies Ipswich Town and Coventry City are each -175 to go down.
The only returning side that comes close to those prices is Sunderland, which is coming off a shocking seventh-place finish last season, its first in the top flight since 2016-17. The Black Cats are +200 to get relegated in May.
The upcoming Premier League campaign projects to be unlike any in recent memory. Of the five favorites, only Arsenal has the same manager that it had at this time last year. Pep Guardiola has left his post at Manchester City, Andoni Iraola replaced Arne Slot at Liverpool, Michael Carrick was made permanent manager at Manchester United, and Xabi Alonso became the fourth head coach at Chelsea since Jan. 1.

The turnover wasn’t limited to the sidelines. Mo Salah and Andy Robertson departed Liverpool, Elliott Anderson went from Nottingham Forest to Manchester City in the most expensive transfer for an Englishman in history, and John Stones and Bernardo Silva, who each won six titles with Man City, left the club after a decade.
More change is expected to come in the final weeks of the offseason as players return from World Cup duty, but we do have a pretty clear picture of how the Premier League will look over the next nine months.

This is a bet that Xabi Alonso, who led Bayer Leverkusen to their first-ever Bundesliga title against the odds in 2023-24, can calm the waters in West London and take advantage of what should be a wide-open Premier League this season.

Fulham (+600, FanDuel)
Marco Silva’s long, successful tenure at Craven Cottage has come to an end, and you have to wonder if that will upset the progress that Fulham has made over the last five years.
Silva’s replacement, Álvaro Arbeloa, brings a strong reputation after managing at Real Madrid’s youth setup, but he’s got his work cut out for him in 2026-27.
Fulham has plenty of talent in its starting XI, but you have to question whether or not this roster is deep enough to contend with the rigors of a Premier League campaign.
According to Transfermarkt, only the three newly promoted sides have a lower roster valuation than Fulham.
