Four Delta Air Lines flight attendants were injured after experiencing turbulence on a flight to Australia on Friday morning.

The flight departed from Los Angeles, California, with 245 passengers and 15 crew members and was headed to Sydney when it experienced “brief turbulence,” according to the airline.

“Delta flight 41 from Los Angeles encountered brief turbulence upon descent into Sydney, and four flight attendants reported injuries,” an airline spokesperson said in a statement to FOX Business.

The aircraft, an Airbus 350, landed “safely and normally” at the Sydney airport, Delta said.

Three of the injured flight attendants were sent to get medical treatment at the hospital; no passengers reported injuries.

“Nothing is more important than the safety of our people and our customers, and our priority is taking care of the impacted crew members,” the statement said.

NSW Ambulance was alerted at around 6:45 a.m. local time in Sydney, just minutes before landing on Friday.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, emergency responders said that they treated five people who sustained minor injuries; however, it’s unclear why their injury count is different than Delta’s.

In addition, The Guardian reported that among the patients treated upon arrival was a woman in her 60s and a man in his 70s, both of whom were experiencing back pain; a woman in her 30s with a headache and back pain; a woman in her 70s with knee pain; and another unidentified person with eye pain.

The three sent to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital reportedly sustained “minor injuries” to different parts of their bodies, the ambulance spokesperson said.
