An innocent 9-year-old boy was shot and wounded in the crossfire of a suspected gang-related shooting in Brooklyn on Thursday evening — and the gunmen are still at large, according to cops and sources.
The boy was shot in the back of the leg near 391 Bristol St. in Brownsville just before 6 p.m. Thursday, police said.
The child was not the intended target and was hit by a stray bullet in what cops are probing as a possible gang-related incident, sources told The Post.
He was rushed to the Maimonides Medical Center in stable condition, sources added.
At least seven police cars responded to the scene, according to video captured by a passerby.
“A baby, a baby got shot, a baby got shot in the leg,” one witness said in the video.
“Oh, someone got shot?” a stunned man said.
“A baby. Shot in the leg,” the witness clarified again.
“Such a shame,” the witness added.
The young boy was shot just six blocks away from the 73rd Precinct, where NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch held a press conference hours earlier, announcing the seizure of 1,000 firearms since the start of the year.
No arrests have been made. At least three suspects fled the scene, sources said.
The investigation is ongoing.
