This time, there wasn’t a known star celebrating a major championship.
This time, it was Aaron Rai claiming the first major — and second PGA Tour victory — of his career, with the 31-year-old English journeyman surging up the leaderboard Sunday with a five-under round to win the second major of the calendar year at nine-under.
Rai, who also golfs on the European Tour and earned his first Tour victory at the 2024 Wyndham Championship, used a wild 68-foot putt on the 17th hole at Aronimink Golf Club to propel his final round.
