Aaron Rodgers ran onto the field at MetLife Stadium to thunderous applause and excitement in his first game at home since his season-ending injury on the first drive of the 2023 season.
Thursday night’s game marked the first time that Jets fans have been able to see Rodgers play at home since the Sept. 11, 2023 game against the Bills where he suffered an Achilles tear that ended his first year with Gang Green as quickly as he started.
Rodgers survived his first offensive drive during “Thursday Night Football” against the Patriots, which ended in the Jets having to punt the ball away.
Rodgers completed all four of his pass attempts for 31 yards in the air but was sacked once for a loss of six yards.
The opening possession included Rodgers running for five yards to record a first down, marking the first time he’s rushed for a first down since the 2022 season.

Things went even better for Rodgers and the Jets on the team’s second possessions when he completed an eight-play, 73-yard drive with a 10-yard TD pass to Allen Lazard for his first touchdown throw at MetLife Stadium as a Jet.
The touchdown play came with just over four minutes left in the opening quarter.
