An American Airlines flight was forced to abort takeoff from New York Thursday after a bird strike was reported, the Federal Aviation Administration told local outlets.

Chicago-bound Flight 392 was traveling at nearly 140 mph on a LaGuardia runway when the crew reported the strike at 8:20 a.m., the FAA told FOX5NY and ABC7.

The pilots rejected takeoff, and the plane returned to the gate.

The incident remains under investigation as the FAA works to confirm whether a bird was struck, the outlet reported.

No injuries were immediately reported among passengers or crew, and no aircraft damage was observed.

The aircraft, a Boeing 737-800, was heading to O’Hare International Airport.

The Federal Aviation Administration, Port Authority of New York and New Jersey and American Airlines did not immediately respond to The Post’s requests for comment.
