Former “American Idol” contestant Caleb Flynn has been thrown in solitary confinement after he allegedly shot his wife dead, according to a report.
Flynn, 39, was placed in a single cell at an Ohio lockup to isolate him for his safety, a veteran corrections officer at the jail told TMZ — adding that fellow inmates have been asking staff about the singer’s whereabouts.
While he’s completely alone, Flynn still has access to a tablet that he can use to make phone calls, watch movies without nudity and read letters, the source said.
The devout Christian is accused of shooting his wife, Ashley Flynn, 37, in the head while their two daughters were asleep in their home in Tipp City, just north of Dayton, on Feb. 16.
Flynn called 911 around 2:30 a.m., telling cops that Ashley had been shot during a burglary — and that he was terrified the killer intruder could still be in their home, according to court documents.
Authorities have accused him of “staging” the scene and leading officers “astray,” according to court papers seen by The Post.
“Oh my God, somebody broke into my home, somebody broke into my home and shot my wife,” Flynn cried to dispatchers. “My wife, she’s got two shots to her head, there’s blood everywhere. Oh my God, oh my God, oh my God.”
Video released by Tipp City police showed Flynn becoming so hysterical that he vomited when officers arrived at the home.
“Ashley’s dead,” he tells his mom over the phone through sobs, the footage shows. “Mommy, she’s gone. I don’t know what to do.”
Moments later, Flynn says, “I’m gonna be sick” — with the video showing him bending over and apparently vomiting on the floor.
Ashley, a beloved teacher and a volleyball coach, was found dead in her bedroom while her two middle-school-age daughters slept in rooms nearby.
Flynn, a former music pastor who gushed about how much he loved his wife when he appeared on “American Idol” in 2013, is charged with murder and tampering with evidence.
He has pleaded not guilty to the charges.
A preliminary hearing scheduled for last month was postponed until March 26, and he remains in the Miami County Jail in Ohio on a $2 million bond.
