Batman’s Wayne Manor hits market for $32 million — but Hollywood history comes with hidden costs

Caped Crusader fans can purchase the mansion that served as Batman’s Wayne Manor in the 1960s TV series for $32 million – but the listing price is only the beginning of what it will cost to own a piece of Hollywood history.

The 1920s grand Tudor-style home on S San Rafael Ave in Pasadena is on the market again after selling for $20.8 million in 2025, the Pasadena Star News reported.

The home’s Hollywood status was first cemented by the iconic TV series, which featured 120 episodes running from 1966 to 1968, starring Adam West as Batman and Burt Ward as Robin.

The 19,000 square foot home with seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms is more like a 17th century castle, with leaded-glass windows, turrets, and a slate roof, and a massive home theater.

But experts warn there’s additional hidden costs when it comes to buying a part of movie and TV history, including paying for the staff, security, and the maintenance of a large historic home that’s nearly 100 years old.

Ritu Kant Ojha, CEO at Dubai-based Proact Luxury Real Estate told Moneywise that running a home of this size would cost between $300,000 and $600,000 annually, to cover things like taxes, insurance, taxes, utilities, and more.

“On $32 million, that’s serious money annually, and it never stops,” he added.

Ojha also warned buyers should remember they forgo privacy buying a famous home.

“You’ll have fans at the gate and the house in listicles forever, and there’s no way to buy the anonymity back,” Ojha said.

“Consequently, you may wait years for your buyer. Liquidity is the hidden cost, more than the price tag.”
