Biden campaign calls scrapped as outrage over his nasty ‘garbage’ remark about Trump supporters continues: report

The White House reportedly pulled the plug on multiple campaign calls that were scheduled to include President Biden in the aftermath of his “garbage” remark aimed at supporters of former President Donald Trump, according to a report.

“Thursday, October 31, 2024: In the afternoon, the President will participate in campaign calls,” read the White House’s public week ahead guidance published on Sunday.

Biden, 81, did not participate in those calls, according to Fox News.

It’s unclear if the organizations hosting the Zoom calls went ahead without the president.

There are no official campaign events for Vice President Kamala Harris on Biden’s schedule ahead of Election Day.

The White House did not respond to The Post’s request for comment.

Biden’s Tuesday call with Voto Latino made headlines after the president referred to Trump supporters as “garbage” in the wake of a Madison Square Garden rally for the GOP nominee.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden said in response to a comedian at the rally likening Puerto Rico to a “floating island of garbage.”

The commander in chief later claimed that he was only referring to the comedian’s joke, and the White House quickly altered the stenographer’s official transcript of the call to add an apostrophe to “supporter’s.”

The Trump campaign seized on Biden’s comment — having the former president show up at a Wisconsin rally the next day with a garbage truck and a garbageman’s vest in response to the president’s criticism of his supporters.

“Kamala [Harris] and Joe [Biden] call us garbage. I call you the heart and soul of America,” Trump said at the Wisconsin event Wednesday while wearing said vest.

Earlier this month, Biden made headlines when he appeared to call for Trump’s imprisonment at a campaign event in New Hampshire.

“If I said this five years ago, you’d lock me up: We gotta lock him up,” Biden said.

Several seconds later, Biden backtracked: “Politically, lock him up — lock him out, that’s what we’ve got to do.”

Trump has since used the remark to rile his supporters up at rallies and his legal team included Biden’s quip in a brief arguing that the federal 2020 elections case against Trump should be dismissed.
