Burning Man’s infamous Orgy Dome has been erected for another go-around after it went limp last year when a windstorm destroyed its 50-foot sex tent.
The hedonist hideaway at the drug-fueled desert party in Nevada is back up and running — thanks to tens of thousands in grassroots donations from horny burners ready for round two.
The Dome — which operates in a 6,000 square foot camp with two air-conditioned orgy tents — also received a donation of 15,000 condoms, which will be handed out to participants along with lube and commemorative towels, according to SF Gate.
There is also a small rule change: orgy-goers can no longer cut the line by bringing their own linens.
“[W]e are NOT accepting sheet donations this year, sorry! This also means there will be no line skipping opportunities,” the organizers warned on Instagram as the festival kicked off this week.
The other rules are the same: Participants must be at least 18 and show IDs. They can’t be under the influence of alcohol or anything else. They must take a pre-orgy seminar covering consent and etiquette.
The final rule — either come with others, or don’t come at all.
“We want an atmosphere where people are playing, and not walking around staring at people, or looking at people to pick up on. A lot of our guests, they don’t want to be picked up on by singles,” organizer “Maze” told The Mirror of the Dome’s “couples and moresomes” entry policy.
Couples are also welcome to fool around with just one another. In addition to the 50-foot “open to more” dome tent, the camp features a smaller “just us” space for partners to go at it in peace — if not privacy.
The strict guidelines haven’t stopped the Orgy Dome from becoming one of Burning Man’s most popular events, with roughly 10% of all burners making the pilgrimage each year, according to And Then There’s Only Love, the nonprofit that organizes it.
The orgy nearly stopped for good last year, when a 50 mph wind storm blew the camp apart, inflicting between $20,000 and $30,000 in damages.
A series of Kickstarter campaigns raised $70,000 to help the Dome rise again, SF Gate reported.
