AUGUSTA, Ga. — Cam Young had just completed his day’s work late Saturday afternoon, one of the best days of work he’s ever produced.
He started this Masters shooting 4 over par through his first seven holes Thursday. On Saturday, he shot his lowest career score at Augusta National — 7-under-par 65 — and was leading the tournament when he finished his round.
By day’s end, Cam was tied at the top with Rory McIlroy, erasing McIlroy’s eight-shot morning lead.
When Cam’s round was complete, his father, David, his lifelong coach, walked expressionless to a quiet spot under the big oak tree outside the clubhouse for a breather.
