Mike McDaniel just got another toy to play with in Los Angeles.

The Chargers are signing speedy running back Keaton Mitchell to a two-year contract worth $9.5 million, NFL insider Tom Pelissero reported on Thursday.

Mitchell played the last three seasons for the Ravens, and while he only logged 121 carries, he often made highlight-reel plays when the ball was in his hands.

The 24-year-old, who ran a 4.37 40-yard dash at the 2023 combine, averaged 6.3 yards per carry and a whopping 9.7 yards per reception.

Baltimore opted not to tender the oft-injured restricted free agent, leaving the door open for the Chargers to sign him. Pelissero reported “several teams” had hopes of bringing him aboard their rosters.

Mitchell will join a running back room that features Omarion Hampton and Kimani Vidal, and perhaps most importantly, he’ll now be coached by McDaniel — the Chargers’ new offensive coordinator.

McDaniel, of course, has had quite the history of getting the most out of tailbacks with similar skillsets to Mitchell, including De’Von Achane when he was the head coach of the Dolphins.

While the Chargers revealed on Wednesday the play-calling guru was fired up by the Bolts’ recent signing of Khalil Mack — a similar reaction to the team’s newest addition is almost certainly on the way.
