A slew of desperate pleas for help repeatedly drew cops to a Staten Island horror house in the years before twisted teen Damien Hurstel allegedly decapitated his mom’s boyfriend inside the abode, The Post has learned.
The gorily dismembered beau — 45-year-old city Department of Sanitation worker Anthony Casalaspro — had been listed as the alleged perpetrator in at least five domestic violence-related 911 calls from the West Brighton home starting in 2021, sources revealed.
In the most recent report in 2023, sources said Casalaspro allegedly drunkenly attacked Hurstel before slapping the teen’s mom.
The alleged attack unfolded after cops had told the aggressively inebriated man to leave the home earlier that day, only to have him return, according to sources.
Neighbors on the tree-lined street also recounted witnessing distressing incidents spilling out of the Cary Avenue home, including one in which Hurstel’s mother suffered a broken leg.
“She was screaming,” a neighbor, who asked to remain unnamed, recalled Tuesday.
“I never heard anyone scream like that. She was on the ground, her leg was bent the wrong way. I said, ‘Do you want me to call 911?’ (The boyfriend) said, ‘No, you’re fine, you’re fine.’”
During the first alleged domestic violence incident in 2021, the mother told cops her boyfriend was drunkenly breaking things in their home and had a handgun, which was never found, sources said.
Casalaspro — who was forced to go on disability because of severe vision loss, a close friend said — also had a criminal record going back to 2000, when he was arrested on suspicion of selling drugs, according to sources.
His other offenses included possessing a gravity knife in 2015 and a 2020 assault and reckless driving incident, sources said.
The troubled Hurstel was also the subject of mental health calls to the home, sources said.
His mother had told 911 operators that he threatened suicide going back to 2022 and once cut his hands multiple times, according to the sources.
Hurstel’s mother and other family members declined to comment.
