Darren Mougey has made plenty of shrewd Jets moves — but now comes the hard part

Sometimes in the NFL, a head coach can bail out his general manager. 

Sometimes, as in the case with the Jets at the moment, it can be the other way around. 

Remember the day Aaron Glenn and Darren Mougey were introduced, Jan. 27, 2025, as the new Jets head coach and general manager? 

Glenn, the former star cornerback for the team, was the perceived prize at that press conference. Mougey, a little-known assistant general manager, appeared as a throw-in of sorts.
