@AmericanAir landed in DCA to a suspicious package threat in terminal D. Been sitting on the plane for an hour. Can’t we move to another terminal to deplane?

More from NBC 4:

Passengers evacuated a concourse at Reagan National Airport outside Washington, D.C., on Thursday morning as authorities investigated a suspicious package.

The suspicious package was found in a break room at the airport about 9 a.m., the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) said.

Airport police established a safety perimeter and cleared passengers from the D Concourse, MWAA said.

Police were investigating the item. Officials didn’t say why the package was considered suspicious.

This comes amid heightened tensions following several terrorist attacks this month after the US and Israel launched strikes across Iran.

This is a developing story.
