Dodgers’ Alex Vesia reveals Rams’ touching gesture to late daughter during NFC Championship game

Dodgers pitcher Alex Vesia revealed on Sunday the Rams sent him a touching gift following the tragic passing of his baby daughter.

In a post on his Instagram page, Vesia shared that in the wake of little Sterling’s death in late October, the Rams created and autographed a custom jersey for him and his family.

The uniform featured the No. 1 and “S. Vesia” on the back. It was signed by many of Los Angeles’ top players, including Matthew Stafford and Kobie Turner.

In showing off the touching tribute, Vesia penned a thank you note to the team as well as an encouraging message as L.A. got set to kick off its NFC Championship game against the Seahawks in Seattle.

“Thank you to the @rams for all the love and kindness,” he said.

“Cheering you guys on, bring it home!”

Vesia and his wife, Kayla, wrote in a November social media post that on Oct. 26, just two days after the Dodgers and Blue Jays began the World Series, Sterling died. They said at the time “there are no words to describe the pain we’re going through but we hold her in our hearts and cherish every second we had with her.”

Last week, the couple shared a tribute to their little girl when they posted a smiling picture of them in front of a sunset.

“Sterlings mom and dad 🩷,” they wrote in the caption.
