Ouch town, population: Will Smith.
In what’s most likely one of the more painful moments of Smith’s playing career, the Dodgers catcher took a ‘low blow’ Tuesday night in Los Angeles’ 2-1 loss.

With the Dodgers trailing 2-0 in the top of the sixth inning, Shohei Ohtani delivered an 0-2 sweeper to Marlins DH Connor Norby. Norby fouled tipped the ball straight into Smith’s groin, who after a few moments, was seen on camera doubled over.
After a few moments, and a few deep breaths, Smith was good and stayed in the game.
While Smith didn’t find the situation very laughable in the moment, his Dodgers teammates didn’t’ share that same belief.
Ohtani gave a painful shrug before a sly grin appeared on his face, while first baseman Freddie Freeman had the funniest reaction of all. Freeman made no effort to hide his laughter, appearing on camera with a huge smile as his teammate was still catching his breath.
Smith was alright and stayed in the rest of the game, finishing 3-for-4 with an RBI.
The rest couldn’t be the same for his Dodgers teammates as they went a combined 4-for-31 as the offense continued to struggle after a slow start to the season.
Los Angeles wraps up the series against the Marlins on Wednesday afternoon. First pitch is set for 12:10 p.m.
