Donald Trump has won the swing state of Arizona, securing the state’s 11 Electoral College votes, according to a projection from Decision Desk HQ.

With 73% of the vote in, Trump defeated Vice President Kamala Harris 52.1% to 47%.

The call in Arizona completes Trump’s total sweep of the seven battleground states — Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Georgia, Michigan, Wisconsin, Nevada, and Arizona — and brings Trump’s total Electoral College vote count to 312.

In 2020, President Joe Biden narrowly won Arizona, helping him top former President Donald Trump in the race.

The threshold for triggering an automatic recount in the state was increased through legislation in 2022 from 0.1 percentage points to 0.5 percentage points.

Polls leading up to the election showed a tight race between the candidates with Trump leading Vice President Kamala Harris in the RealClearPolitics average by 2.8 points headed into Election Day.

Arizona has seen a slight increase in the amount of spending that has gone into political advertisements during the 2024 campaign cycle when compared to the amount of spending from 2020.

In 2020, $427 million was spent in the state by both parties for all political races.

That number has now increased to $487 million spent in the state for all political races, with Democrats spending $308 million to $147 million for Republicans.

For the 2024 presidential race in the state, Democrats outspent Republicans $122 million to $83 million.
