A popular ride at Long Island’s Adventureland malfunctioned on Friday night, leaving over 25 young thrill-seekers dangling in mid-air.
The panic began around 7:30 p.m. when the amusement park’s “Wave Twister” attraction ground to a sudden halt, trapping the riders a dizzying 25 feet above the ground, Suffolk County fire officials told News12.

The East Farmingdale Fire Department and a mutual aid company rushed to the scene and are currently working a rescue operation to bring the stranded parkgoers safely back down.
Photos show firefighters with ladder 5 beginning to assist riders down from the Wave Twister.
