One man’s trash is … also his treasure.
A fast-acting Ohio gambler turned his luck around — diving into a dumpster to retrieve a $100,000 winning lottery ticket that he’d accidentally thrown out.
The resident of Willard was horrified to realize he’d tossed a jackpot-winning scratch-off into the garbage — especially because the trash had already been taken out, the Ohio Lottery revealed last Friday.

“He ended up having to dumpster-dive to retrieve it. It was definitely worth it because it was a $100,000 winner!” said the Lottery, which funds local education.
The unidentified man bought his golden ticket at a Circle K gas station in Willard.
Staff know few details about how the man knew he’d trashed his windfall ticket, but the town of around 6,000 people has been buzzing with the news, a Circle K employee told The Post.
“Nobody believes it was him. He is an avid lottery player, and they can’t believe he actually won. They’re like, ‘No way!’” the employee said.
The winner kept $73,250 after taxes, the Ohio Lottery said.
That’s still around $25,000 more than the median annual household income in Willard, according to Census data.
