The NFL injuries keep piling up, and now Eagles star receiver A.J. Brown is joining that list.
Brown is expected to miss “a couple of weeks” due to a hamstring issue that popped up Friday, ESPN’s Lisa Salters reported during the “Monday Night Football” broadcast.
Salters said that Brown called the issue “just a freak thing” and that his hamstring tightened up on him as he was running around.
The star receiver did tell Salters that he did not believe the injury was “too serious.”
Brown appeared on the Eagles’ injury report on Friday as a limited participant, and he was later ruled out of Monday’s game over the weekend.
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo posted video of Brown on the field with the Eagles during pregame warmups.
Brown is one of the Eagles’ top offensive weapons and showed that during the Week 1 win over the Packers in Brazil.
In the season opener, Brown had five catches for 119 yards and a touchdown in the 34-29 victory over Green Bay.
The Eagles hosted the Falcons on Monday night and led, 7-6, at halftime.
Brown’s absence will be felt with games against New Orleans on Sunday and Tampa Bay in Week 4.
Philadelphia then has a bye week in Week 5.
Whether Brown is back before or after that remains up in the air, though.
