Hours before Cooper DeJean was slated to take the field in the Eagles’ NFC wild-card loss to the 49ers, his brother, Beckett DeJean, was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Online records showed that Beckett had been arrested by the Ida County Sheriff’s Office and was booked shortly after 1 a.m. local time on Sunday in Iowa on first offense OWI.
He was released at 10:45 a.m. on Sunday.
Specific details about the arrest were not immediately available.
The charge that Beckett is facing is a misdemeanor that does come with serious penalties that include jail time, fines and license revocation.
Beckett is 20 years old and had previously been a member of the South Dakota Coyotes football team, having been listed on the roster for the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
He did not have any stats associated with his name on his player page.
News of the arrest came on the same day Cooper had his season come to an end as the Eagles’ attempt to repeat as Super Bowl Champions fell short in a 23-19 loss at Lincoln Financial Field.
Cooper finished the game with two tackles and two passes defended.
The Eagles had entered the playoffs as the No. 2 seed and had taken the NFC East title after going 11-6.
Cooper has been linked to WWE superstar Nikki Bella, with reports indicating that the two had been on a few dates.
Dating buzz had started late last year after Nikki had worn a No. 33 DeJean jersey while going to see an Eagles game.
