The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office has opened a sex assault probe into California Rep. Eric Swalwell after explosive reports emerged accusing the congressman of assaulting a former staffer in NYC.
In a statement Saturday, DA Alvin Bragg’s office encouraged victims to come forward.
“We urge survivors and anyone with knowledge of these allegations to contact our Special Victims Division at 212-335-9373,” a DA spokesperson said in a statement to The Post.

“Our specially trained prosecutors, investigators and counselors are well-equipped to help you in a trauma-informed, survivor-centered manner.”
The alleged assault took place after an April 2024 charity gala in New York City said the victim, who has not been publicly identified.
She claimed she was heavily intoxicated and woke up in her hotel room to find Swalwell assaulting her.
“I was pushing him off of me, saying no,” the woman, who no longer worked at Swalwell’s office at the time of the alleged assault, told CNN. “He didn’t stop.”
The staffer — one of four women to recently come out with allegations of sexual misconduct by Swalwell — claimed the incident in the Big Apple was not the first time Swalwell had attacked her.
The victim was 21 when she began working at Swalwell’s district office in Castro Valley in 2019 and alleged she woke up naked next to the congressman in his hotel room after a night of drinking in September 2019, according to a report in the San Francisco Chronicle.

The young staffer had no recollection of the evening, she told the outlet.
She also accused the then 38-year-old congressman of sending her explicit Snapchat messages that included pictures of his genitals and a video of himself touching his penis through his pants while on an airplane.
The embattled pol vehemently denied the allegations in a video statement on Friday.

“They are absolutely false. They did not happen. They have never happened. And I will fight them with everything I have.”
