The emotional mother of disgraced Louisiana mayor Misty Roberts‘ alleged 16-year-old sex victim claimed her son was “disgusted” by the purported illicit romp – which allegedly took place at the accused perv’s own teen son’s birthday party.
The shocking testimony was delivered Monday to a jury in DeRidder, Louisiana – where Roberts, 43, stepped down from her mayoral duties one week after allegedly getting caught having sex with the minor at a booze-fueled pool party for her own son in July 2024, KPLC reported.
The alleged victim’s mother testified that nothing seemed to be out of the ordinary when her son returned home the day after the pool party – until she received a text message from a family member asking her to talk, which made her grow suspicious of the night’s events.
When she asked her son about it, he admitted that he and Roberts had sex, the outlet reported.
“He said that they had sex and that he was disgusted,” the visibly rattled mom told the courtroom.
“He apologized, and we said he had nothing to apologize for.”
According to the mom, her son said that Roberts had been flirting with him throughout the night – allegedly caressing his leg and telling him he looked good – while other kids fed him drinks to “catch up” since he’d arrived to the party late.
Roberts, who was clad in only an orange bikini at the party, had “pressed her butt up against” the boy while taking a photo with him, made statements about being attracted to him and rubbed up on his bare torso during the party, according to the criminal complaint against her and a state investigator who also testified against her on Monday.
The officer told the jury that cops found two photos of Roberts and the alleged victim together at the party on the boy’s phone – one showing the teen, wearing a puffy coat and large glasses, facing the camera while Roberts was turned away. The other photo of the 40-something and teen was a selfie.
After the purported photo-op, the mayor allegedly told the teen, “We can’t do this here,” and led him to the “bonus room” of her home, locked its doors and laid down on the couch with the boy, where she kissed him, exposed her breasts and sat on top of the minor, the court papers state.
Roberts’ own teenage son allegedly snapped a photo of the lewd scene, and said in an interview played for jurors that he saw his mom having sex with his pal through a crack in the window, the docs stated.
At least five other minors – including a 12-year-old – also witnessed the disgusting scene, according to court papers, which disturbingly reveal that even Roberts’ own juvenile daughter was a spectator.
Her daughter, whose age wasn’t immediately known, “was crying asking people to go and make [the victim and the defendant] stop,” a witness, who tried to “comfort” the girl, told investigators, according to docs.
A 14-year-old boy who also took the stand Monday reportedly testified that he saw Roberts – who had purchased booze for the kids to drink at the shindig, he said – kissing the alleged victim by the pool before he watched them go upstairs together.
He told the jury he saw Roberts’ nephew take a video of the pair naked and having sex through a window – and that when they had finished, Roberts reemerged at the party “acting real crazy.”
When the nephew confronted his accused perv aunt about what they’d done, allegedly telling her he had proof of her crimes, she demanded his phone, the boy claimed.
Another teenage witness testified that Roberts, who he’d seen drinking throughout the party, began asking kids for their phones as he was gearing up to leave her house.
A third minor witness – who admitted to encouraging the alleged victim “to see” where Roberts’ purported advancements that night “could go” – said he and another boy had immediately watched the video snapped by the nephew.
“After 30 seconds, we realized what actually happened, the weight of the situation. We went inside to discuss how to stop it,” he told the courtroom.
Following the party, the alleged victim’s mother told jurors she was fearful of calling local police because Roberts was their boss, so she initially stayed quiet.
“We didn’t know who we could trust.
“I wanted to crawl in a hole. I wanted it to go away. As a mother, you want to do everything you can to protect your children,” explained the mother, who later reported Roberts to state police and a district attorney.
In the meantime, she texted the mayor to ask if her minor son could soon become a father – a message that made her feel “sick” to send, she said.
“Out of respect for both our families, can you assure me that you can’t be pregnant?” the mom’s text to Roberts read, per court papers.
“Yes,” the accused perv replied, before assuring the mom she was on “birth control” – but that the romp “didn’t reach that point in those few minutes to have that concern,” according to court docs.
