Ex-NFL superstar Terrell Owens declares which Cowboys receiver is king

SAN FRANCISCO — There’s no debate in Terrell Owens’ mind when it comes to Cowboys receivers — George Pickens is “better than” CeeDee Lamb.

During a chat with The California Post out at Super Bowl week, Owens said if he had to pick between Lamb and Pickens, his choice would be easy.

“Both of them are great receivers,” Owens said. “But, in my estimation, [Pickens’] catching ability, his catch radius, his ability to go up and make plays when there aren’t plays; he offers a lot more down the field when it comes to being a deep threat and being a playmaker.”

Owens, a former Cowboys star, said he’s now expecting quite the contract extension for Pickens, who’s slated to be a free agent after putting up career numbers with Dak Prescott in 2025.

“He stated his case,” said Owens, who appeared on Radio Row this week on behalf of Sharpie. “The numbers don’t lie. That’s the thing, you don’t really have to say too much. The proof is in the pudding. This is the best year he’s had. This is what Pittsburgh wanted out of him.”

The Cowboys acquired the 24-year-old from the Steelers last May, and he went on to total 1,429 yards and nine touchdowns on 93 catches.

A franchise tag is likely to come from the Cowboys, though if they want to sign him longterm, it’s expected to cost in the range of $30 million-plus per season.

Lamb is currently in the middle of a four-year, $136 million pact with Dallas. Earlier this week, he said he didn’t care if Pickens eventually made more than him.

“I just want my man to get what he deserves,” Lamb said.
