WASHINGTON – The Justice Department is investigating allegations of sexual assault against former Congressman Eric Swalwell, a source familiar with the matter told The Post Thursday.

Prosecutors in New York and detectives in Los Angeles are already scrutinizing Swalwell (D-Calif.), who has been accused by at least five women of sexual misconduct, including at least two instances of rape.

Swalwell has denied criminal wrongdoing, but copped to “mistakes in judgment” in statements ending his Golden State gubernatorial campaign Sunday night and resigning from the House of Representatives Tuesday.

DC US Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced earlier Thursday that she had opened a hotline for anybody to give information about “alleged sexual or inappropriate conduct in DC” by the married Swalwell, 45.

FBI Director Kash Patel has also encouraged any prospective victims to contact federal law enforcement.

We would welcome him to sit down with the FBI and share any information he has,” Patel tauntingly wrote on social media Monday evening.

“We also encourage and welcome any person with relevant information to any of these matters to speak with us,” he added. “Door is open to all.”

Swalwell, a seven-term lawmaker who sought the Democratic presidential nomination in 2020, was the party’s front-runner in the California gubernatorial race ahead of the June primary before the allegations emerged last week.

Victims shared harsh, graphic stories alleging assault by the now-former lawmaker, with one accusing Swalwell of sexually assaulting her at the Times Square Edition hotel in April 2024.

The woman, who has not been publicly identified, claimed she was heavily intoxicated and woke up in her hotel room after a charity gala to find Swalwell assaulting her.

“I was pushing him off of me, saying no,” the person told CNN. “He didn’t stop.”

Here’s the latest on the allegations against Rep. Eric Swalwell

The most recent accuser to come forward claimed Swalwell drugged, raped and choked her during a terrifying encounter in 2018 that left her thinking he was going to kill her.

Model Lonna Drewes, 50, claimed the then-congressman — whose wife was pregnant at the time — lured her to his West Hollywood hotel room by pretending to be interested in helping her grow her fashion software company.

“After the meeting, he offered me connections to further my software company, and I also had an interest in local politics,” Drewes told reporters.

She said she believed Swalwell “drugged my drink. I only had one glass of wine.”

“When I arrived at his hotel room, I was already incapacitated, and I couldn’t move my arms over my body. He raped me, and he choked me. And while he was choking me, I lost consciousness. I thought I died,” she said.

Nearly two dozen of Swalwell’s congressional colleagues had endorsed him, with all renouncing their backing after the allegations emerged.
