The Trump administration hit a major milestone in its immigration enforcement effort, with a top federal immigration agency taking actions to strip the status of millions of illegal immigrants since inauguration day, The Daily Wire has learned.
Since President Donald Trump’s second inauguration, United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has worked to revoke or terminate the status of roughly 2.2 million illegal immigrants, the Department of Homeland Security told The Daily Wire. The number of actions taken by USCIS under Trump is nearly seven times what the Biden administration accomplished in its final two years.
It is not clear whether all 2.2 million illegal immigrants lost their status.
USCIS’s actions include efforts moving to terminate of Temporary Protected Status for more than one million foreign nationals from 13 countries. Some of the the terminations are being held up due to ongoing litigation.

The agency has also placed certain foreigners into removal proceedings by issuing notices to appear in immigration court. Additionally, USCIS ended the automatic extension of work permits for immigrants.
The Trump administration also terminated parole programs, including one created by the Biden administration that allowed roughly 500,000 Cuban, Haitian, Nicaraguan, and Venezuelan migrants to bypass the border and fly directly into the United States.
USCIS is just one agency taking such actions. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), along with the State Department have denied and revoked the status of millions of others.
In a statement shared with The Daily Wire, Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said the actions are evidence of the president’s promises to tighten restrictions to prevent mass migration.
“President Trump promised the American people that our immigration laws would be enforced, and these numbers reflect the scale of that commitment,” Mullin said. “Those who abuse or flagrantly disregard our immigration system are now on notice that these violations of law will not be tolerated or overlooked. Securing our border was only the beginning.”
“We are restoring integrity to the entire immigration system and putting the safety of our American citizens first,” Mullin added.
Between October 2025 and August 24, 2026, ICE deported roughly 421,182 aliens from the United States, according to a September ICE report.
The Trump administration has also revoked more than 300,000 visas, including roughly 4,000 tied to birth tourism and 6,000 held by foreign students who committed crimes or have ties to terrorism, the White House announced earlier this month.
Ahead of the midterm elections, the Trump administration has ramped up prosecutions of foreigners accused of voting or registering to vote. On Monday, the Justice Department announced charges against 48 foreigners with election-related offenses.
