A Florida man was shot dead in a gun battle over a song played on a Mexican restaurant’s jukebox, according to reports.

Socorro Camacho, 54, was killed in the scuffle at Antojitos Mexicanos in Fort Lauderdale around 1:30 a.m. Monday, 7News reported.

“I heard that there was two guys [and] they got into an argument because one of them played a song on the [jukebox] and the other guy kind of was pissed off,” said Mauro Bonilla, who spoke to three witnesses.

“The guy that got insulted pulled his weapon and started shooting the other guy,” Bonilla explained.

The man who slammed the other patron’s song choice pulled out his weapon first, but the target of his taunts was allegedly the one who opened fire, Bonilla explained.

“One of them played a song on the rock-ola, the machine, and the other guy was pissed off and said you’re not a real Mexican if you play that … music,” he said.

“The other guy was chasing him, shot after shot,” Bonilla said of the incident.

“It’s just sad because this is a good neighborhood. It never happens, you know. I’m very shocked someone got shot dead and killed.”

The victim was shot three times, according to the 911 dispatcher.

The shooter ran from the scene, the manager of Antojitos Mexicanos said.

As of Tuesday morning, the suspect – who has not been publicly identified – had still not been arrested, according to the Fort Lauderdale Police Department.

Camacho’s brother told 7News that he looked for his brother for most of the morning before he got a call from Fort Lauderdale detectives, who confirmed that he had been killed.
