Former Packers star Eddie Lacy was arrested in Arizona on Monday night and accused of driving while very drunk.
The former NFL running back faces four DUI charges, including “Extreme DUI — BAC .20 or more,” according to TMZ Sports.
Lacy, 34, was reportedly pulled over at 10:40 p.m. by Scottsdale Police after he was observed committing multiple alleged traffic violations.
He was also charged with “liquor – possess open container in vehicle,” the outlet reported.
Further details of the arrest were not immediately available.
Lacy was a second-round pick for the Packers in the 2013 NFL Draft after starring at Alabama, where he was a three-time national champion.
Initially, Lacy showed a lot of promise as the team’s lead running back.
In his first two NFL seasons, he started 31 of the team’s 32 regular-season games, rushed for over 1,100 yards each year and scored a total of 24 touchdowns.
He was the AP Rookie of the Year in 2013 and earned Pro Bowl honors.
However, in 2015 he had 758 rushing yards in 15 games — with 12 starts — and just 360 with no touchdowns in 2016.
He appeared in nine games for the Seahawks in 2017 carrying the ball 69 times for 179 yards and no touchdowns.
In 2016, Lacy was open about losing weight after laying off alcohol.
“Some things were harder than others. But at the end of the day, it’s all about the result,” Lacy said at the time. “I feel like I handled it well and I held up my end of the bargain. … I’ve got to keep going and just keep hoping for the best.”
