Gavin Newsom posts kinky photo of ‘good boy’ Ted Cruz amid Chevron social media spat

Gavin Newsom is resorting to explicit measures to slam his opponents.

The California governor shared an AI-generated photo of President Donald Trump with a Chevron logo as a head and holding Texas Sen. Ted Cruz’s leash as he crawled over a dog bowl that said, “Chevron’s lap dog.”

The governor’s office captioned the picture, “Chevron Cruz is a good boy.”

Other oddities in the photo include Cruz having a tail, a dog tag with his name on it, bags of money labeled campaign donations, and a plaque that said “Chevron’s good boy.”

The photo is an implicit slam of Cruz, who defended Chevron after the governor slammed the company for hiking its gas prices.

“Pro tip: unbranded gas comes from the same refineries, storage tanks, and pipelines, and it meets the same state standards to keep your engine running clean,” Newsom’s office posted last Thursday on X.

“Big Oil is already making billions off Trump’s Iran War; don’t let them rip you off even more by overpaying for the brand name.”

Cruz responded with a photo of a Chevron station with a price much lower than California’s average gas price over $6 a gallon.

“Just filled my tank. In Texas, gas is $3.99 a gallon. Hey Gavin—the problem isn’t Chevron, it’s California’s stupid energy policies,” Cruz wrote on X Tuesday.

As of Wednesday, the national average for a gallon of gasoline is $4.459, per AAA. However, that price skyrockets in CA, where drivers are paying an average of $6.094 a gallon.

Newsom also ripped into Chevron with a “pro tip” claiming the company’s “branded” blend costs drivers more at the pump compared to “unbranded” gas.

“According to the Division of Petroleum Market Oversight’s analysis presented to the state Assembly, Chevron averaged more than 60 to 80 cents per gallon above unbranded alternatives,” a spokesperson for the governor told The California Post.

It came after clips went viral showing signs at Chevron stations telling drivers that the reason they were paying so much at the pump is because of Democrats that are running the Golden State.
