Gerrit Cole’s wife reveals how kids honored Yankees ace with iconic sign during World Series

The first World Series game attended by Gerrit Cole’s young sons will certainly be hard to top.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Cole’s wife, Amy, posted an adorable photo of sons Caden, 4, and Everett, 1, in their pinstripes as they watched the Yankees keep their season alive with an 11-4 win over the Dodgers in Game 4 at Yankee Stadium.

Captioning the post, “First World Series game for these two tonight,” the Cole kiddos held a sign made famous by their dad that read, “Yankee fan today tomorrow forever.”

Cole, 34, famously held the sign when watching the Yankees face the Diamondbacks in the 2001 World Series, where Arizona was crowned the champion in seven games.

The righty brought the sign with him to The Bronx in December 2019, where he was introduced as a Yankee after agreeing to a nine-year contract worth $324 million.

The couple welcomed their eldest child, Caden, in 2020, and announced the birth of son Everett in early 2023.

Cole is set to start Game 5 on Wednesday night following a dominant performance in Game 1 last Friday, when he allowed one run in six-plus innings in the Yankees’ crushing 6-3 loss to the Dodgers in Los Angeles after Freddie Freeman hit a walk-off grand slam with two outs in the 10th inning.

The Yankees’ season was essentially on life support after the team droped the first three games of the World Series, including Monday’s 4-2 loss in their return to The Bronx.

That all changed in the third inning Tuesday when Anthony Volpe’s grand slam jolted the offense, which later tallied five runs in the eighth.

“Hopefully when we win the World Series and I’m with family, we can all reflect on everything,” Volpe said afterward. “It was just a big game. We just wanted to go 1-0 today and win today and see where it took us.”

Game 5 gets underway at 8:08 p.m. ET.

If necessary, a Game 6 will take place in Los Angeles on Friday night.
