Heart-warming video shows newlyweds’ first dance in underground Jerusalem shelter during Iran’s missile attack

Heart-warming video captured two newlyweds in Jerusalem having their first dance in an underground bunker as Israelis were forced to take shelter when Iran blasted nearly 200 ballistic missiles at the Jewish state on Tuesday.

The moving footage shared on X shows the unnamed couple swaying lovingly in a cramped and dimly lit shelter, with their wedding guests looking on and filming the moment.

The newlyweds, dressed in their wedding garb, can be seen holding each other as they slowly rock back and forth to the music, seemingly coming from one of their guests’ cellphones.

The groom can be seen slowly spinning the bride as she holds up her long, white lace gown.

The touching clip was filmed in an underground shelter near one of Jerusalem’s biggest hotels, the Notre Dam Hotel, according to Bible scholar and author Saul Sadka, who originally posted the video to X.

“Iran couldn’t stop the joy at this Jerusalem wedding even for a moment,” Sadka wrote alongside a heart emoji.

The couple, alongside hundreds of thousands of other Israelis, were forced to take shelter Tuesday night after Iran released a barrage of 181 missiles across the country, causing shrapnel and warheads to rain down on Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and other major cities.

Despite the barrage, only two Israelis were injured in the attack.

The only known death was a Palestinian man in the West Bank who was crushed by an intercepted missile fuselage.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu pledged Israel will retaliate — reportedly vowing to target the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities and oil production.

“The attack appears to have been defeated and ineffective,” President Biden said following the barrage, during which two American destroyers helped intercept the missiles.

“Make no mistake: The United States is fully, fully, fully supportive of Israel.”
