The most-watched knee at the 2026 Olympics survived its first big test Friday.
Lindsey Vonn appeared to get through her first training run without incident after completely rupturing her left ACL during a World Cup race last week in Switzerland.
The Peacock announcer noted a “hard landing” near the finish line but it otherwise looked to be a smooth run.

“That’s a big box ticked for Lindsey Vonn,” the NBC announcer said.
The downhill competition in Italy happens Sunday morning.
“Nothing makes me happier!” a smiling Vonn posted on Instagram before the race atop Cortina d’Ampezzo.

“No one would have believed I would be here… but I made it!! I’m here, I’m smiling and no matter what, I know how lucky I am. I’m not going to waste this chance.”
Vonn had finished near the middle of the pack time-wise with about half of the racers completing the training run that was briefly delayed by fog.
