Conservative media outlets are now stepping into the role once filled by the mainstream media and providing TV pool coverage of the President after networks announced plans to boycott Trump in response to CNN, MS Now, and Politico being banned from the White House.
This comes amid major world news events, including Trump’s attendance at the UN General Assembly in New York on Tuesday and Chinese President Xi Jinping’s trip to the United States this week. President Trump is scheduled to participate in an arrival ceremony for Xi Jinping today at 6:00 pm ET.
Trump banned CNN, MS Now, and Politico from the White House last week, citing the “FICTION and LIES” they report. The three outlets have since filed a lawsuit against the Trump Administration.
ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, and NBC also suspended their pooled coverage of the White House in protest of the move by Trump, the Gateway Pundit reported.
Following CNN’s exclusion from the White House press pool for the President’s trip to New York for the United Nations General Assembly, Fox News Washington bureau chief Bryan Boughton, who leads the television pool consortium, said in a letter to television pool members that they will no longer cover the President, according to the New York Times.

CNN White House correspondent Kaitlan Collins boasted of the boycott in a YouTube short posted by CNN this week. “Fox News, CBS, ABC, NBC, and CNN, have all banded together, and they have suspended the TV pool, which means that for the time being, the President will not have a camera and reporters from a major outlet, a major television outlet, covering him,” she said. “That comes as he is headed to New York on Monday for the United Nations General Assembly, and also ahead of his big state visit in Washington with Xi Jinping, all events that we know the President values having broadcast on television.”
She doesn’t think the conservative press corps at the White House could do it.

Instead of CNN, Real America’s Voice stepped up to take over TV coverage as the secondary TV pool crew during the President’s New York trip, posing a serious threat to the White House Correspondents’ Association’s monopoly on coverage of the President.
