Hurricane Milton may have fallen to Category 4 strength Wednesday morning, but the historic storm is still set to devastate the Gulf Coast and other parts of Florida when it makes landfall this evening into early Thursday morning.
The first rain bands have moved in on the Sunshine State, as National Hurricane Center warns that “Milton has the potential to be one of the most destructive hurricanes on record for west-central Florida.”
Tampa mayor Jane Castor is warning any residents who aren’t heeding mandatory evacuation orders that if they do not leave their homes, “that’s the coffin you’re in.”
