A 93-year-old California man is behind bars after allegedly gunning down his wife in a parking lot and calling the cops to turn himself in.
Richard Hocking, a nonagenarian in Fremont, called dispatchers with a chilling admission — claiming he had just pulled the trigger on his 86-year-old spouse in a 12:22 a.m. phone call Saturday — according to the Fremont Police Department.
Responding officers rushed to the 5000 block of Mowry Avenue, where they found the elderly suspect and the victim in the front passenger seat, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
Cops recovered a firearm from the vehicle and whisked Hocking away into custody for homicide and a gun related enhancement. While Hocking gave a statement to detectives “articulating the reasoning behind the incident,” tight-lipped officials have not yet released a motive for the late-night slaughter.
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.
