In June 2025, the Trump administration terminated TPS for Haiti, which had been continuously extended and renewed by prior administrations. In June 2026, the Supreme Court (SCOTUS) ruled in a 6-3 decision that the administration could end TPS for Haiti.
“Despite the best efforts from activist judges, the Supreme Court reaffirmed what we already know: The T in TPS stands for temporary. TPS was never designed to be permanent, yet previous administrations have used it as a de facto amnesty program for decades. Under the strong leadership of President Donald J. Trump, we are putting America first again.”
