The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is maintaining an active $10 million reward for information leading to the arrest or conviction of Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, one of the main leaders of the faction known as “Los Chapitos” within the Sinaloa Cartel.

The announcement, widely disseminated on social media by the agency itself and replicated by media outlets such as Fox News, emphasizes that Guzmán Salazar is a fugitive who should be considered armed and extremely dangerous.

According to ICE’s official “Most Wanted” file, Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, alias “Tocallo” or “Chapito,” was born in Sinaloa, Mexico, is approximately 1.73 meters tall, weighs about 77 kilos, and has fair skin, brown eyes, and brown hair. His last known location is Culiacán, Sinaloa.

He is charged with conspiracy to distribute controlled substances, running a continuing criminal enterprise, and money laundering. He is wanted in connection with an HSI investigation in Nogales, Arizona, regarding the Sinaloa Cartel.

The details reveal that Guzmán Salazar and his three brothers, collectively known as “Los Chapitos,” inherited the drug trafficking networks from their father, the notorious Joaquín “El Chapo” Guzmán Loera.

Since 2008, this faction has coordinated large-scale smuggling of cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and marijuana into the United States, using extreme violence —including murders, kidnappings, and assaults— to protect their operations.

They actively participated in events such as the “Battle of Culiacán” in October 2019, which sought to free a co-conspirator. ICE emphasizes that they possess firearms and represent a direct threat.

This reward, issued by the Department of State’s Narcotics Rewards Program in collaboration with ICE, seeks to weaken one of the cartel’s most violent factions and fentanyl producers.

Los Chapitos have been identified for flooding the United States with this lethal drug, responsible for thousands of annual overdoses that devastate American communities. We previously reported it on Gateway Hispanic when the initial announcement gained traction in September 2025.

Anyone with information can confidentially contact HSI Nogales at the phone number 520-335-7315 or via email at [email protected]. The national hotline 866-DHS-2-ICE is also available.

The authorities insist that it is not necessary to be in the United States to provide useful information. This action by the U.S. government reinforces the need for a frontal security policy against the cartels that have exploited weaknesses in border control and have turned drug trafficking into a national threat.

While “Los Chapitos” continue to operate from clandestinity, the $10 million reward sends a clear message: American justice will not rest until it dismantles these networks that poison families and undermine sovereignty.
