Karen Bass has revealed plans to splurge another near $15 billion in her budget as she desperately clings to power.
The Los Angeles Mayor dropped a raft of sweeping changes Monday morning but wants to keep dozens of city services the same.
She said she wants to hire 510 more cops for the LAPD but said firefighter levels will remain the same until at least November.
Her office has seen an influx of cash due to higher revenue from crippling business, property and sales taxes that have left parts of the city a ghost town.
It comes as Bass desperately seeks reelection later this year as she is hunted down by candidates such as Spencer Pratt, who has surged in the polls.
Among the budget announcements, her controversial homelessness initiative, Inside Safe, has been spared cuts, with $104 million allocated for the year.
The program has only managed a 17.5% reduction in homelessness and seen many moved into hotels that have cost the taxpayer billions of dollars.
Bass also wants to expand her “curb cuts,” which put wheelchair ramps at intersections, and pile more money into removing trash from the city’s grubby streets.
Bass’ plan will be passed to the City Council’s Budget and Finance Committee to be debated over several weeks before it must be approved by July 1.
