Isabelle Harrison is showing she’s more than a pleasant Liberty surprise

During the offseason, Isabelle Harrison signed her dream one-year deal with the Liberty.

It was an opportunity to redeem her injury-plagued career and turbulent 2024 Chicago season by playing with an established group of stars on their quest for a repeat title while under Sandy Brondello, who was her first head coach upon entering the league with Phoenix in 2015.

Harrison would help bolster the Liberty’s frontcourt off the bench. It all made sense for her eighth year in the WNBA. However, her role has already grown into something bigger than expected seven games into the season.

Since Nyara Sabally suffered a right knee injury on May 24 and has missed the past five games, Harrison has seen a bump in time on the court. She has averaged 9.1 minutes in those contests, along with 4.3 points on 61.5 percent shooting. In the prior two games with an active Sabally, she spent 3.5 minutes on the floor.
