A Jamaican man illegally voted in US elections for 22 years — and lied that he was a US citizen, the feds announced on Election Day Tuesday.

Antonio Mitchell, a permanent US resident living in Paterson, NJ, was cuffed on Oct. 28, for illegally voting in various elections from 2000 to 2022 — and then later lying about it in his bid for American citizenship, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

He registered to vote in New Jersey in 2012, lying when he swore he was a US citizen, according to a criminal complaint filed in NJ federal court.

Mitchell also voted in-person on Nov. 8, 2022, in the general election for the House of Representatives, the complaint alleged.

When applying to become an American citizen, Mitchell lied on forms on Jan. 31, 2025, when he checked “No” to the question of whether he’d ever registered to vote or had voted “in any federal, state, or local election in the United States,” the court papers charged.

Mitchell doubled down on that lie during an interview with an ICE officer on Sept. 24, 2025, as part of his application process, the docs alleged.

In another ICE interview on March 25, 2026, Mitchell again “denied having registered to vote, or having voted,” the court papers claimed.

Mitchell, who posted $25,000 bond, was charged with voting by an alien in a federal election, unlawfully attempting to procure naturalization and false statements in relation to naturalization.

“Voting in American elections is a right reserved for eligible voters,” ICE Assistant Director of Public Affairs Micah Bock said in a statement. “Those who knowingly violate federal election laws should understand that their actions carry serious consequences.

“ICE cannot ignore suspected federal crimes simply because they involve elections. The law applies to everyone, and we intend to enforce it.”

The announcement of Mitchell’s arrest came the same day of midterm elections for Congressional seats and governorships.

Last week, the feds announced the busts of over 400 people for voter fraud crimes by non-US citizens.

Mitchell’s criminal defense lawyer didn’t immediately return a request for comment Tuesday.
