INGLEWOOD, CALIF. – Jaxson Dart was grabbing his left knee on the turf less than four minutes into the Giants-Rams game Monday night after he got folded on a hit from both ends by Byron Young and Josiah Stewart.
It looked like Dart and Young banged knees as the Giants quarterback fired downfield and Theo Johnson could not make a leaping catch.
Dart hobbled off the field and into the blue tent – a sight that usually brings out his frustrations for a concussion check – after players from both teams kneeled around him.
The next play was a punt, but Dart was replaced by Jameis Winston to start the next possession.
At the same time that Winston took the field, Dart limped back to the locker room. A cart followed Dart into the tunnel and out of sight of the crowd.
Dart was officially listed as questionable to return.
The Giants do not have a backup plan if Winston gets injured because third-stringer Jake Haener is on the practice squad.
