The Los Angeles Chargers are 0-7, and Jim Harbaugh gave multiple puzzling responses when asked about what the future holds for offensive coordinator Mike McDaniel.
In the Chargers’ 24-9 loss to the Rams on Sunday, the Chargers didn’t score a touchdown for the second game in a row, and Harbaugh is still planning on letting McDaniel call plays.
Jim Harbaugh: “We’re aware of what the issues are, and we’re the only ones that can fix them.” Follow up: “Are you aware of what the issues are?” Harbaugh: Summarizes the game.

Harbaugh opened his presser saying, “We’re aware of what the issues are, and we’re the only ones that can fix them.”
He was then asked if he’s aware of what the issues are, to which he said, “Yes, I’m not gonna address anything; I’m focused on this game and that’s my focus.”
The follow-up questions continued about why they’re keeping McDaniel following the team’s performance the last seven games and he said, “Yeah, our motivation is, a dedication to getting it changed, getting it fixed.”
Harbaugh’s vague back-and-forth continued as he said, “You’ve asked, and I think I’ve answered the question, so.”
The Chargers head coach went on to say he’s committed to figuring out what happened in Sunday’s game and keeping his belief instilled in their guys.
On Sunday, the Chargers fell 24-9 to the Rams, and any hope of making the playoffs is all but an afterthought.
The Chargers came into the game with the lowest-scoring offense in football, averaging 15 points per game, while being in a five-way tie with the Browns, Seahawks, Vikings, and Commanders — scoring 50% of the time they are in the red zone.
All nine of the Chargers’ points came off the leg of kicker Cameron Dicker, who nailed three field goals.
During the final seconds of the second quarter, Justin Herbert threw a hail mary down the field that was caught by Ladd McConkey for a 54-yard reception. Unfortunately, McConkey was a yard shy of it landing in the end zone, as the Chargers came away without scoring a point.
Herbert finished the game completing 24 of 32 passes for 257 yards, throwing two interceptions and taking two sacks.
The Chargers offense was inefficient running the ball, collecting only 64 yards on the ground, while running back Kimani Vidal was the team’s leading rusher, running the ball eight times for 23 yards, with Omarion Hampton following for 20 yards on nine carries.
