Jordan Love wants to get Micah Parsons in Green Bay.
Parsons is an an ugly, ongoing contract standoff with the Cowboys after publicly asking to be traded earlier this month.
Love is trying to take advantage and get Parsons on the Packers.
“I talked to Micah this offseason,” Love said on the “Up and Adams” show. “We did a podcast together. I talked to him, I recruited him a little bit.”
Earlier this month, Parsons — a two-time All-Pro — accused Cowboys owner Jerry Jones of negotiating an extension in bad faith.
“Unfortunately I no longer want to be here,” Parsons wrote in a statement on social media. “I no longer want to be held to close door negotiations without my agent present. I no longer want shots taken at me for getting injured while laying it on the line for the organization, our fans and my teammates. I no longer want narratives created and spread to the media about me.”
Parsons is entering the final year on his rookie contract.
He has been a hold-in at Cowboys training camp.
The saga took a strange turn on Friday, when Parsons showed up to the Cowboys’ preseason game against the Falcons in street clothes, ate nachos in front of the camera and at one point laid down on a medical table.
Jones spoke about the situation recently, calling any possibility of the Cowboys trading Parsons “BS.”
He claimed Parsons’ agent, David Mulugheta, told the team to stick their latest contract offer “up our ass.”
“We were going to send it [an offer] over to the agent and the agent said don’t bother because we’ve got all that to negotiate,” Jones said on Michael Irvin’s podcast. “Well, I’d already negotiated. I’d already moved off my mark on several areas. And so, the issue is frankly that we already had the negotiation in my mind, and now the agent is trying to stick his nose in it.”
