Las Vegas Raiders head coach Klint Kubiak did not mince words after his team’s upset 26-14 win against the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday.
A video of Kubiak speaking to his team in the locker room after Sunday’s win is causing a stir on social media.
“How do you change a place? You do something they say you can’t! You guys f****** did something they said you can’t! Seven-point dogs, f*** that! Great job, man. Great f****** job,” Kubiak said, referencing how the Raiders were seven-point underdogs heading into the game.
“Hey guys, I’m so proud of you. And I’m gonna say exactly what we said last week: We are humble in victory, okay? We are humble in victory. We’re a team. It’s about us, and guys proved that today. Let’s take a knee and thank God,” Kubiak concluded before hanging off to safety Jeremy Chinn, who had Las Vegas’ postgame break.
Kubiak’s rant has gone viral, amassing over 1.2 million views on the Raiders’ X account and being reposted to countless other accounts.
Las Vegas clearly has a chip on their shoulder and delights in being the underdogs.
They’ll get used to being underdogs over the next, as they have a brutal schedule over the next two months that includes games against the Kansas City Chiefs (October 4), the New England Patriots (October 11), the Buffalo Bills (October 18), the Los Angeles Rams (October 25), the San Francisco 49ers (November 8), the Seattle Seahawks (November 15), and the Denver Broncos (November 22).
Las Vegas is currently 3.5 point underdogs against the New Orleans Saints next week, which could bode well for them given how being ‘dogs against the Chargers went.
