PHILADELPHIA — Kodai Senga has barely resembled a major league pitcher over the past calendar year, but his confidence remains high that he can return to prominence.

“I believe that I can dominate,” Senga told The Post through his interpreter before the Mets faced the Phillies in Sunday night’s series finale. “I believe that I have all the power in the world to be a great pitcher in this league, and if I don’t believe that who will?”

First, the Mets need a semblance of respectability from the right-hander, who is set to face the Cubs on Monday at Citi Field.

A team in desperate need of a starting pitching surge for better or worse is banking on Senga, who sputtered in his return to the Mets on Tuesday following a six-week rehab for lumbar spine inflammation and an ulnar nerve irritation.
