Of course it all came full circle.
Following Spain’s 1-0 extra-time World Cup final win over Argentina on Sunday, Lamine Yamal did the most veteran, mature move.
Soon after the final whistle, Lionel Messi sat on the MetLife Stadium pitch to take in the loss that ended Argentina’s chance to repeat as champions.
Spotting the legend, Yamal walked over to Messi, who stood up to share a moment with the 19-year-old phenom.
The two shared an emotional hug and privately shared words.
Greatness comes full circle.

It was a sweet moment for the two generational players, who have a unique history.
Since the World Cup started and especially before Sunday’s final, a picture of a 20-year-old Messi holding baby Yamal has gone viral.
The photo was taken in Spain, where Messi spent 24 years of his soccer career in Barcelona.
At Fanatics Fest on Friday in New York, Messi explained the photo when asked by Tom Brady.
“Honestly, that photo is crazy because, well, in my life I took a picture with him when he was a baby, and today we are both facing in a World Cup,” Messi said.

“The truth is, what I am saying is crazy, but that’s it. He is one of the best in the world right now, without a doubt, and I wish him the best of luck because what’s good for him will also be good for Barcelona.”
Now, at 39, Messi is nearing the end of his career.
He was overcome with emotion as the Argentina fans sang to the team after receiving their runner-up medals.
After the win, Yamal took a moment on the pitch for himself at well.
He fell to his knees and stretched out on the ground in celebration along with teammate Nico Williams.
Yamal is only getting started and has just earned his first World Cup title — and Spain’s second.
After a scoreless game in regulation, Spain was able to put one in the net during extra-time thanks to stunning finish by Ferran Torres.
The celebrations will only continue for Spain around the New Jersey and New York City area Sunday night.
