Lil Nas X ordered to mental health diversion program for near-naked arrest

Lil Nas X’s near-naked attack on Los Angeles police officers has resulted in the singer and rapper getting admitted into a mental health diversion program.

Nas, real name Montero Hill, appeared in court Monday dressed in a black suit and giving a double thumbs-up as he entered the courthouse in Van Nuys. Once inside, the judge granted the “Old Town Road” rapper a mental health diversion program instead of jail time.

Hill is slated for a progress report on the mental health program on July 29.

A mental health diversion program is a court-approved treatment plan for individuals diagnosed with mental health disorders to get help instead of doing jail time. Upon completion of the program, some defendants can have their cases dismissed.

The Grammy winner was spotted roaming the streets of Studio City alone wearing only a white pair of underwear and cowboy boots back in August 2025. Cops were called to the scene, and Hill allegedly charged at and attacked the officers who responded, resulting in his arrest.

He was hospitalized after the arrest for a possible overdose.

Shortly after the arrest and his hospitalization, Hill posted a video message on social media calling the ordeal “f**king terrifying,” but assured fans he was going to be OK.
