Livvy Dunne revealed why she and Paul Skenes work so well together.
The LSU gymnast gushed over the Pirates ace in a recent interview and explained that he’s helped her become a better athlete, while she taught him to navigate the spotlight.
“I feel like we’re like yin and yang,” Dunne told People. “I love doing social media and I enjoy being in the spotlight.
“He doesn’t even have social media on his phone. He doesn’t like social media at all. We’re just very opposite and I feel like it really works.”
Skenes, the Pirates’ No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 MLB draft, is on social media.
Dunne — who’s in her fifth year at LSU after winning a NCAA championship with the Lady Tigers in April — explained the couple holds one another accountable.
“I think that we play off of one another and make each other better,” she said. “Paul definitely holds me accountable, which I really appreciate. Sometimes it’s hard to find it within yourself to do things.
“I feel like his work ethic is something I’ve never seen before. It’s very cool to hear his advice for me, and I feel like that made me a better athlete last year.”
Dunne explained that it’s a two-way street with Skenes, who’s fame is on another level after he made the MLB All-Star game amid a standout rookie year.
“He’s now in the spotlight, which I’ve had for quite some time now, and hopefully I’m able to help him in ways like that,” she said.
The couple met in Baton Rouge and went public with their relationship in August 2023.
Dunne, a New Jersey native, attends Skenes’ games in between her gymnastics schedule and other work ventures.
The Sports Illustrated model — who has 8 million followers her on TikTok and 5.3 million Instagram followers — became one of the faces of the NIL era while at LSU.
Since 2021, when NIL guidelines changed, Dunne has made an estimated $9.5 million.
Some of her brand deals include American Eagle, Nautica, Snapchat, Microsoft, Raising Cane’s, Ulta Beauty, Purina and Accelerator energy drink.
