Melania Trump ripped Vice President Kamala Harris for trying to distance herself from the “suffering” created by failures in her administration with President Biden.
“The record speaks for itself,” the former first lady told “Fox & Friends” in an interview aired Thursday morning, insinuating that the veep won’t be able to fix the damage caused by her time with Biden.
“The country is suffering. People are not able to buy usual necessities for [their] families,” she said during her first televised interview in the past two years.
“We have wars going on around the world. Soldiers are dying. They were dying under this administration because of, weak leadership. The border is open and dangerous. A lot of fentanyl is coming over, killing our youth. It’s very hard to to see,” she added.
The Slovenian American former fashion model has seldom weighed in on politics in recent years and has rarely been spotted in the public eye while her husband, former President Donald Trump, 78, campaigns across the country for a return to the White House.
Melania, 54, stopped short of dinging Biden, 81, or Harris, 59, directly by name during her bleak assessment of their performance. She also stressed that the fate of the country is in the “people’s hands on November 5th.”
“All [Donald Trump] wants to [do], as he says, make America great again. He wants to make this country prosperous, safe for everybody. He wants to make [the] American dream possible again,” she contended about his agenda.
During her tenure as first lady, Melania took almost six months to move into the White House along with her son, Barron, and then endured intense public scrutiny thanks to the polarizing nature of her husband.
“Nothing prepared me more to be first lady in front of the world than the fashion industry,” she reflected. “It’s glamorous, but it’s at the same time very tough. And, uh, as everybody judges you, look at you a certain way.”
“It gives you a thick skin.”
Melania is opening up about her life’s journey in her upcoming memoir, “Melania,” which is set to hit bookshelves next month.
To rev up anticipation for the book, the former first lady has taken to social media and put out black-and-white videos describing and defending aspects of her life. In one of those videos, for example, she defended her past nude modeling pictures.
During her wide-ranging interview on Fox News, Melania revealed that her husband sought to have additional children with her, besides Barron, who is now in college.
“I was always, perfectly fine with one. And Donald was encouraging to have more,” she recounted. “I know how busy he is. And, I’m in charge of everything. So that’s why. It’s … just perfect.”
She reflected on the feelings she had when she first crossed paths with the real estate mogul at a party.
“I love the vision that he had and the connection that we had,” she said. “It was special.”
“It was a connection.”
Melania also opened up about the two high-profile assassination attempts on her husband.
“I ran to the TV and, I rewind it and I watched it,” she recounted of the July 13 assassination attempt in Butler, Pa. “Nobody really knew yet because when you see him, on the floor and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”
The Secret Service eventually told her that “he will be okay” and the former first lady went to visit him in the hospital. At one point, she got through to him on the phone as well.

Barron was outside playing sports when gunfire rang out at his father’s rally, according to Melania. During the Sept. 15 assassination attempt at Trump International Golf Club West Palm Beach, she was in New York City.
She again observed it on television and called him.
“I think both of the events, they were really, miracles … you know, he could not be with us,” she said, noting how close a bullet came to her husband’s head on July 13.
“I think something was watching over him. It’s almost like, the country really needs him.”
